Celebrating the protection of Great and Selig Islands

Nova Scotia Nature Trust, the province’s leading land conservation organization, is very pleased to invite you to a special celebration on Friday, August 6th, at 10:30 am at the Vogler’s Cove Community Centre (8544 Highway 331, Vogler’s Cove).
Join the Nature Trust in celebrating the permanent protection of 300 acres of undeveloped coastal property on Great and Selig Islands - the largest island conservation ever accomplished off mainland Nova Scotia.
Members, supporters and the public are welcome to attend a brief reception ceremony to honour the local family who has made this generous commitment to protecting Nova Scotia’s natural legacy and are invited to join a walk on Cherry Hill Beach afterwards.

19th Annual Lockeport Sea Derby
Lockeport, Nova Scotia | | The Lockeport Sea Derby is in its 19th annual year, based in the scenic, culturally rich town of Lockeport Nova Scotia. The festival draws participants and observers from all over the world to our South Shore for a weekend of family oriented entertainment. Many other land-based events take place during the Derby weekend and our regularly updated events list can be found at our website, along with photos from last year's festival. Registration for the entire weekend is $30 for adults and $15 for youth under 16 years of age and includes a Lockeport Sea Derby hat. Prizes packages are awarded based on a luck-of-the-draw system, so even if you didn't catch a fish, as long as you've registered you're eligible to win package prizes and the $1000 Grand Prize!
